York Heating and Air Units

May 5, 2012 by arialmoses Leave a Comment

A Distinguished Past. A Confident Future.

The YORK® commitment to building quality home comfort products began over 140 years ago. A manufacturing company founded in 1874 in YORK, Pennsylvania, started making ice machines to replace the shipping of ice from the Great Lakes. The “YORK” company soon extended their expertise in refrigeration to other areas:

⦁ In 1914, YORK® installed a revolutionary “air washing” comfort system in the Empire Theater in Montgomery, Alabama. This was a precursor to what became known as air conditioning.

⦁ In 1924, YORK® equipment was used to create the world’s first air conditioned office building in Fresno, California.

⦁ Today, YORK® products are heating and cooling some of the world’s most famous structures, including the Empire State Building, the English Chunnel, U.S. Capitol Building and the Sydney Opera House.

Dedicated YORK® Contractors have also installed YORK® products in millions of homes throughout North America. Their training in proper installation and service ensure unsurpassed comfort and energy savings that lasts.

An Investment in Quality

In 2006, YORK® became a brand of Johnson Controls – a Fortune 100 company and a leader in world-class manufacturing. This alliance has allowed us to invest in industry-leading research and development to deliver a wide range of products with the features requested most often:

⦁ High energy efficiency that reduces utility bills

⦁ Reduced outdoor operating sound levels

⦁ Space efficiency for smaller homes and living spaces

⦁ Attractive designs that complement your home

⦁ Easy-access panels to simplify routine maintenance
Designed, engineered and assembled in North America, our residential products undergo performance and reliability testing that is unmatched in our industry, ensuring energy savings and lasting performance for years to come.

Awards and Recognitions

Listen. Create. Innovate. Our advanced design and manufacturing processes are leading the industry with products recognized for reliability, saving energy and being easy to use.

Good Housekeeping Seal
This recognized emblem of assurance is given to YORK® products backed by Good Housekeeping magazine’s Consumer Policy. The policy promises a refund or replacement for defective products within two years of being sold by an authorized dealer. It’s the kind of recognition you expect from a product that delivers the quality you deserve.

Best Buy Award
For over 50 years, people have trusted Consumers Digest magazine to identify outstanding values. That’s why we’re proud that our YORK® Affinity™ YP9C gas furnaces with high-efficiency modulating burners were given the Consumers Digest Award. It’s the kind of recognition that shows that our high quality means outstanding value for you.

PEX Plumbing and PEX Radiant Heating and Cooling

May 5, 2012 by arialmoses

slider5-01-01East Tennessee HVAC & Plumbing suggest the Uponor brand PEX.  An Uponor plumbing system features Engel-method crosslinked polyethylene (PEX) tubing. This is a flexible plastic tubing product that has been used for more than 35 years in radiant floor heating, plumbing and fire safety systems.  An Uponor PEX plumbing system is a clean, healthy, quiet and reliable alternative to other systems, such as copper. Our innovative system is also corrosion and freeze resistant providing you with peace of mind.

PEX is classified into three categories:

• PEX-a (Engel or peroxide method)

• PEX-b (Silane method)

• PEX-c (Electron beam or radiation method)

The PEX tubing industry considers Engel-method PEX-a tubing superior because the crosslinking is done during the manufacturing process when polyethylene is in its amorphic state (above the crystalline melting point). Because of this, the degree of crosslinking reaches around 85%, resulting in a more uniform product with no weak links in the molecular chain.

The properties in PEX-a tubing make it the most flexible PEX on the market, allowing for the tightest bend radius available — as little as 3½” for ½” tubing. Its flexibility also greatly reduces the instance of kinked tubing. However, because of the thermal memory of PEX-a, if a kink does occur, a simple shot from a heat gun returns the tubing to its original shape.

Check Out This Video F0r  A PEX Overview

 Key Benefits

  • Corrosion resistant
  • Free of metal contaminants
  • Resists pitting and scale buildup
  • Dampens rushing water noise
  • Eliminates water hammer and singing pipes
  • Retains heat in hot-water lines
  • Resists condensation on cold-water lines
  • NSF International Certification for water purity

HERO Fabriduct

HERO Fabriduct

East Tennessee HVAC & Plumbing is a proud installer of Hero FabriDuct™.  In locations where we can use  FabriDuct™, we can cut the costs associated with metal ducting by as much as 80%, while providing our customers with many choices such as color, shape, and installation method.   (The fabric can even be printed)

History of Fabric Air Ducting

Fabric air ducting has been in use since 1948. In 1963 Fabric air tubing was developed for heating and ventilating in the greenhouse industry with only one diameter of tubing available. Holes were punched manually with a rubber mallet. Since then, the tubing has been diversified considerably in size, shape, and application.  Not only is it still used in greenhouses, but is now used for a wide range of manufacturing and industry applications, as well as commercial, retail, office and school environments.

Hero FabriDuct™ products are Polyester fabric supply air diffusion systems, operating under positive pressure. The diffusion occurs through any combination of permeable and non-permeable fabrics, and /or strategically designed linear slots.  Hero Fabriduct™ systems are available in round, “D” shape, or quarter-round duct configuration. These systems are designed to provide uniform air distribution in commercial, industrial, public warehouse environments and homes. When tested in accordance with ASTM E-84, these Polyester fabrics have a flame spread index of less than 25, and a smoke developed index of less than 50.  Hero FabriDuct™ fabric products are limited to use in systems with a maximum positive design pressure equivalent to 3.1 inches of water column, a maximum operating velocity of 2,000 feet per minute, and a temperature range of 0° F to 250°F (-18°C to 121° C).
